A video of a news channel displayed that the image of a saint was visible on the moon, and same had created a sort of viral attention. People thronged outside trying to glimpse the rare event. The viral image displayed the image of the moon and on it was displayed, the face of Shirdi Sai Baba. When I looked at the image, I quickly understood that it was the image of the moon morphed with that of the saint. I quick surfed through my pictures and found a picture of the moon that I had taken recently. I quickly merged my photo with that of the moon, by visiting an online photo collage site. Bingo! there it was. My picture was on the moon. Later I quickly tried some more pics of some famous personalities . Let's see how quick you will be able to identify them.  Pic 1  Pic 2  Pic 3 And the Pic on the media as below

Why should we stop using plastic?

Image
There is ample evidence that we all use plastic regularly even with the knowledge that it has been working against our own interest and that of the environment. The all friendly-seeming plastic is by us generously, whatever-wherever- whenever. You go to a shop and buy things at the mart and you are well aware that you have not carried a bag. “Please pack it in a carry bag,” you shamelessly ask at the counter. Getting your work done there you move on to the vegetable shop and buy your wishlist of veggies. “Ek cover  de de   bhayya ,” you ask the vendor nonchalantly and he pleases you with ample covers. You further move towards your home and in the corner pani-puri shop you make your halt. “Bhayya, pack 2 plates of pani-puri and one plate samosa. In a few minutes, your package is ready. One plastic cover for pani-puri , one for samosa, one for chutney and one for the hot soup and one bigger plastic cover to pack all these smaller bags. You then get

What media can do against rapes?

Everyday front page of almost all newspapers have a news of a rape event. But there are bad effects to the way the news papers publish them. It creates a flutter during the initial days and becomes a routine later. What can be done by media to reduce this menace? Firstly the front page of a newspaper must not contain the news of rape, but instead must give the news of those convicted in rape. A rape convict must be interviewed and his view on about his wrongdoings and the punishment he faces, must be published. Even if he is not feeling the guilt, the news must be published indicating the problems he is facing in the prison. A reporter may carry out his analysis by m eeting a jail warden and enquire about rape convicts who feel guilty and remorse about the event which put them in jail and, this news must appear on the front page. The news may be something like below:  Rapist A languishing in X jail feels sorry for what he did " I must not have done it. I feel ashamed"

Should we be apprehensive of rising AI ?

Image
Even though there is a growing concern that Artificial Intelligent Robots will take over the earth and destroy humanity, the situation is not yet alarming. AI has not reached the potential of human beings, yet the AI can do activities that we humans cannot. For example the recent revelation about Cambridge Analytica indicated that they used AI to compile large volumes of data belonging to Facebook users, apply mathematical studies to identify the political orientation of the people and possibly rig-up the election mandate of the US. AI Robots like Sophia are sophisticated enough to think and answer questions posed by people. But does this make the AI technology superior to human beings? Will use of AI result in major layoffs? Even though there is no answer to the first question, we can be rest assured that emergence of new technologies has only brought about new avenues and simplifying our jobs. Around two decades back, when computers and software emerged, similar apprehensions of

You feel the immediate social obligation to try it out and announce your results to all your followers. When you click on one of the links, you see a notification that the APP requires your facebook profile and your list of friends on facebook. You pause for a moment, remain undecided and then ask yourself, "Well, what's there to lose?" and you proceed to click on the accept button. But in the backdrop there are a few things that takes place. The APP gets your name and other personal details about you plus the details of all the posts you have liked, shared or commented, with a bonus list of your friends on facebook . Well that'
